January 2012 was a rather special month at the Post Modern Group featuring not just one but three notable anniversaries. Co-founders Amir Samnani and Rick Warren both turned 50 and The PME Interview notched up its 50th edition. It seemed therefore a fitting occasion to invite Managing Partner/CFO Rick Warren into the CNBC Studios in London to debate the future for traditional labs as airlines move more and more to a pure digital product.

In a remarkably candid interview, Rick discusses the threat from major hardware manufacturers who want to bypass traditional labs by setting up an iTunes style service for airlines and reveals the true cost to PME of launching a content service provider.

To celebrate the 50th PME Interview, PME is giving away an iPad 2 so keep watching to find out how you can win this gorgeous piece of kit.

Mark Horton has experienced the in-flight entertainment industry from both sides of the fence. During the ’80s and early ’90s, Mark was in charge of IFE at British Airways and served as WAEA President at the time of the London conference. Nowadays he’s involved in selling rather than buying in-flight movies, as vice-president of non-theatrical distribution at Paramount Pictures. In this week’s PME Interview Steve Harvey talks to Mark about his long association with in-flight entertainment and how he sees the future for in-flight movies.

Rich Salter – Lumexis

Of all the different forms of in-flight entertainment, the one that’s proved to be consistently popular is Airshow, the moving map display that plots the flight path and provides read outs of speed, height and that all important ‘outside temperature’. For his vision in creating Airshow and for his tireless contribution to the WAEA, Rich Salter was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. In the latest PME Interview, Steve Harvey talks with Rich about Airshow, his present role at Lumexis and what’s coming up at this month’s WAEA Single Focus Workshop.
